Sometimes when we want to win, we immediately envision ourselves being at the finish line already. In fact, we failed to see that before we get ourselves to the end, we have to go through a process. The entire process might be tough, easy, or whatever, but the point is you have to go through a process. Now, the question is, what are you going to do to finish your goal? How can you avoid the “shortcut” mentality when playing? You need golf mental toughness when playing to avoid this shortcut. In golf, the best way for you to gradually make your way to the finish line is to take one shot at a time. This means that instead of being concerned over your score and how you can catch up, you are to focus more on the shot that you are going to do at the moment. The main reason why several golfers fail is that they tend to be very conscious of the score card. If it isn’t, look at where you had faults, and improve the next time around. Again, forcing yourself to immediately make it to the finish line is very detrimental. Just try to remember that before the advent of computers come the typewriters. In short, there has to be a process towards perfection. Typical Practice?- Not In Golf Mental Training

One of the key concepts you need to understand to improve your golf mental training is the way you practice has a direct effect on the way you play the game. Getting out of what is called typical practice is sometimes very difficult to do. You need a willingness and desire to move on from the bad habits that are plagueing your golf game. As they say, the older the tree grows, the harder it is to bend.

In golf, such notion makes sense.. When you are used to the typical form of practice you usually do, it will be very difficult to take it out of your system. Once you have it for several months or years already, shifting once again can be very difficult to do.

Some experts would say that whatever is it that you have conformed doing, stick to it. However, in golf practice this does not really apply all the time. It happens especially when the typical practice is just focused on the physical swinging of the club.

However, as usual, try to still be flexible. Think about all the different shots you play on the course and all the little, subtle variations. With this thought in mind you should realise that how many balls you hit from the same spot on the practice fairway isn’t practicing golf. You are practicing hitting a ball and not playing the game.
