Biomechanics Of Golf Swing

Studying The Biomechanics Of Golf Swing Throws Up Much Useful Information

You can learn a lot from studying the biomechanics of golf swing and it is especially helpful in learning the difference in scientific terms between an amateur golfer and one who is a professional, and also between those who will end up becoming winners and those that will end up on the wrong side of the score line. However, first it is much more important to learn what exactly the term biomechanics refers to, and in fact, it is thought to be a mechanical means of analyzing the motion made by a body. Also, when one studies as well as understands the physical aspects to a golf swing through the medium of analysis of the biomechanics of golf swing one can glean a lot of useful information from such analysis.

High Speed Video Capture

The most commonly used means of studying the biomechanics of golf swing is through proper use of technology related to high speed video capture, because only through such means can you know that when a body twists, it causes torque to be produced on the golf club and if you want to know how far you will be able to strike the ball, you need to know the speed at which the golf club is going to strike the ball, and faster speeds will cause greater kinetic energy to be transferred to the ball which will thus help send the ball much farther.

There are some very revealing and interesting facts that you will learn from studying the biomechanics of golf swing, and one of these inputs that you will learn is that a golfer is generally able to achieve speeds from his or her club head that is close to or about hundred miles per hour though a great golfer such as Tiger Woods can achieve considerably higher speeds.

In fact, when one studies the biomechanics of golf swing of Tiger Woods one will notice that it is his style of swinging the golf club that has taken the art to a new level. And, there is also not much to argue about regarding the findings that come out as a result of studying the biomechanics of golf swing that each has an interesting story to tell whichever golfer’s golf swing is studied.

It is also well known that a player’s ability to play better golf is directly related to the biomechanics of his or her golf swing, which means needing to study what happens to the player’s body while he or she is in the process of swinging a golf club. No doubt, it may as yet not be possible to understand the precise biomechanics of golf swing; however, it is helpful knowing something about what goes on while a golfer is swinging the golf club and this information can be used to further improve the golf swing, and thus the overall game itself.

Golf Swing Alignment

Proper Golf Swing Alignment Is Crucial To A Good Swing

In order to execute the proper golf swing you need to have correct golf swing alignment. Golf swing alignment is making sure that your body is set up properly to the ball and that the ball is placed correctly within your stance. All of this is very critical to getting the most out of your golf game and for having maximum control over the flight of the ball.

Incorrect golf swing alignment can lead to things like slicing and/or hooking the ball, hitting the ball fat and/or thin, and even whiffing on a swing and causing some serious embarrassment. So let’s get your body in correct golf swing alignment to hit a golf ball. The first thing you want to do is to get your body in line parallel with where you want the shot to go.

Everything from your shoulders, to your hips, to your knees, to your feet should be in a parallel line pointing right at the target. If your feet are not planted parallel then the ball will hook or slice depending on which foot is off parallel. If your shoulders are off parallel then you will either swing and miss the ball or send it off sharply in the wrong direction. So get your golf swing alignment correct right from the start and parallel yourself to your target.

Now Address The Ball – Hello Ball!

Now that your golf swing alignment is parallel to the target you need to properly address the ball. This needs to be comfortable and it is crucial to get a good feel for this in your golf swing alignment before you take your shot. It all starts with placing your club behind the ball. Once you place your club comfortably behind the ball you then bend your knees and back to comfortably adjust to where your club is. Your head should be over the ball so you can see it clearly while making your swing. Make sure your feet are shoulder length apart, no more and no less. Once you are in a comfortable bent knees position with your head over the ball it is now time to make sure the ball is in the correct place in your stance.

Ball placement in your stance is pretty basic. For wedges and high numbered irons you want the ball parallel with your back heel. Middle and long irons are in the center of your stance. Fairway woods and your driver is lined up with your front heel. It always pains me to see guys that line up their woods way out in front of their stance and then wonder why their shots push left or right. Line the ball up right in your correct stance and you will hit the ball where you want it to go.

Golf Swing Monitors

A Guide to Golf Swing Monitors

Golf is a game beloved by many, and one of the most popular professional league sports in the world. One of the best things about it is that it can either be played competitively or personally with a few friends, whatever your preference is.

There are so many different tools and equipment available for the game of golf that it can often become quite difficult and even frustrating simply trying to determine which you should purchase. If there is nothing else that you buy to help improve your golf game however, you should buy golf swing monitors.

What are Golf Swing Monitors?

Golf swing monitors are incredible devices that are able to record the speed and velocity of your golf swing. Two of the most critical and significant elements in any golf swing are speed and tempo, and by using golf swing monitors you are able to learn how to improve both.

They work by measuring the exact speed of your club head, which they are able to do by using extremely accurate Doppler radars. Most golf swing monitors also feature a tempo timer, which is used to measure and record the time that it takes between take away and impact, and while this time will typically be different for each swing you take, it is the consistency of this time that is most important.

Advantages

There are many obvious advantages of using these monitors, namely that you will be able to dramatically improve your game by determining what is wrong with your swing and what you need to do in order to fix it. These monitors offer you information that you would not be able to recognize otherwise, and they are thus an invaluable asset.

Remember

You do have to remember however, that just because you are using golf swing monitors to help you improve your game, this certainly does not mean that you can start slacking off in any other areas. You still need to ensure that you are giving your all in every other part of your game, and keeping up your determination and hard work.

Golf is a game of skill, and not luck, and anyone who believes otherwise is incorrect and can be proven so. There are scientific physics involved with the game of golf, and in order for any golfer, professional or not, to have success with their game, they need to be aware of this and use it to their advantage.
